Latest ps3 update - Firmware (v2.70)

The PS3 Firmware (v2.70) Update is the latest is supposed to enhance your connected experience on the great ps3 console.
Features include the following:

Text Chat - this allows you to communicate with other Playstation 3 players across the globe. Chat with up to 15 of your ps3 Network friends. How cool is that! This make use of the wireless keypad but you can also use the on-screen keyboard to chat live.

The ps3 update also have feature that allow you to sort out your friends via online status. This is the XMB (XrossMediaBar) feature. This enhancement enables you to increase your message from 1MB to 3MB which is very much welcomed. Attach larger files that you send to your friends.

Another cool feature is the Video delivery service on PlayStation Store. You can now back up your video files that you brought from the PlayStation Store. So just like a PC you can back up to an external storage device and restore whenever.

If you own a PSP (PlayStation Portable). You love this PS3 Firmware (v2.70) Update. You can now playback PSP videos on your ps3 when transferred. Here the developers are thinking about our investment. Good stuff.

The Text Chat on the ps3 is going to be awesome. But we will not stop there. ps3 users globally will be looking for ps3 Voice Chat very shortly and I’m sure the developers are preparing this feature. Drip feeding us eh!
